Biography[]
Yasuki was born in Wakayama Prefecture and began his career as a mangaka in September 2002, participating in the 39th Tenkaichi Manga with the one-shot called "Baku" for which he received an honorable mention and was later published in Akamaru Jump WINTER 2003.
On April 1, 2004, he published the one-shot called "DEAD/UNDEAD" in Aomaru Jump. Later that year, he would release another one-shot called "Aerial Picture Book" published in Akamaru Jump SUMMER 2004. At some point this year, Yasuki would become Horihiko Araki's assistant during the serialization of Steel Ball Run.
On September 4, 2006, he launched the one-shot called "Hitomi no Catoblepas" in Weekly Shonen Jump No. 40. Later, on May 27, 2007, the first chapter of the Hitomi no Catoblepas serialization was released in Weekly Shonen Jump No. 25, thus becoming Yasuki's first serialization. The series would last until issue No. 40 of the same year, having a total of 15 chapters collected in two volumes.
In 2008, the one-shot called "Jamais Vu" was released in Akamaru Jump WINTER.
In 2009, the one-shot called "Kagijin" was released in Akamaru Jump WINTER. Later, on July 10, 2009, the first chapter of the serialization of the homonymous one-shot would be released and would be launched in Weekly Shonen Jump No. 33, becoming Yasuki's second serialization. The series would last until issue No. 50 of the same year, having a total of 17 chapters collected in two volumes.
In 2012, Yasuki launched a manga based on the Medarot franchise called "Medarot7", this would be a short serialization published in the August to October 2012 issue and the January 2013 issue of Saikyo Jump magazine.
In 2013, Yasuki launched a manga based on the "Gaist Crusher" franchise that ran from the May 2013 to the May 2015 issue of Saikyou Jump magazine. A manga based on the same franchise called "Gaist Crusher First" would run in V-Jump magazine from 2013 to 2014. A spin-off based on the same franchise called "Gaist Crusher Academy" would run in V-Jump magazine from the July 2014 to the February 2015 issue.
On October 23, 2017, Yasuki launched his third serialization called "Summer Time Rendering" in the digital magazine Jump+. The series would be published until February 1, 2021 with a total of 139 chapters collected in 13 volumes. This series would be Yasuki's first success, even receiving an anime at the end of the serialization and a spin-off called "Summertime Rendering 2026: The Room that Dreams of Murder" released on April 14 until April 15, 2022 with a total of 2 chapters. This series focused on the events after the end of main series.
On March 22, 2024, Yasuki would launch his fourth serialization called "Ghost Fixers" in Jump+.
